Stretching peaceful protests over a long period of time

Stretching peaceful protests for too long can weaken the strength of the movement, as people begin to fear for their safety and lose hope in the efficiency of the process. Khomeini wants Ahmadinejad to stay in power, and fears that Moussavi will weaken the Iranian theocracy. As the protests weaken, Khomeini will crush and repress the opponents with a violent show of force.

Western governments will not intervene in this process by fear of making democratic protesters lose credibility if they gain power.

Iranian people can only change the government by themselves.

You are right, if the Western Governments get involved the protestors will not be taken seriously! But hang in there stay strong the world is with the protestors.

The country is about the citizens not the government, stay strong, don't let them walk on you.
